After the U.S. Senate passed a bill extending the moratorium on Internet taxation for seven years and sent its bill back to the U.S. House of Representatives for reconciliation, FIPA sent a letter to House members urging them to support the Senate bill. The House passed the Senate bill, and the seven year ban was sent to the President to sign, extending the tax moratorium beyond the Nov. 1 expiration date.

FIPA went on record during the recent debate on extending the moratorium on taxation of Internet access by local governments. Sending a letter to all 100 U.S. Senators, FIPA asked that the moratorium be extended for another four years.
